Moosehead Lake Ice Fishing
January 1 is the opening of Ice Fishing season on Moosehead Lake. There are many other bodies of water open for ice fishing in the area.

Annual B-52 Memorial Snowmobile Ride
A yearly visit to the site of wreckage, via snowmobile, of the B-52 Bomber which crashed on Elephant Mountain on January of 1963. Meeting at Moosehead Riders Clubhouse at 1pm. At 1:30pm snowmobilers depart for ride to the crash site. Spaghetti dinner at the clubhouse after the ride.

West Cove Ice Racing Begins!
It is officially winter! West Cove Ice Racing begins! The season is weather dependant so check with us. Oval track racing starts at noon, located in the West Cove. LET THE FUN BEGIN!!!!

Moosehead Lake Togue Fishing Derby
Third Annual Derby with lots of great prizes. Cash prizes for the three largest togue, and numerous prizes for the fish pool. Every togue brought in to the weigh stations gives the fisherman a chance in the fish pool. Several BIG door prizes which do not require a fish to win.

Snowfest The Moosehead Lake Region has 2 weeks of winter fun activities! Some of the scheduled events are:

Ice Racing on the lake and a Bonfire
Annual Chocolate Festival - every kind of chocolate goodie you can imagine. You will not believe what heavenly chocolate temptations they will have! We went last year and we brought many home to enjoy over the next several days.
The Annual 100 Mile Wilderness Sled Dog Race which starts right below us in the East Cove!
There are also many other activities including: Snowmobile "Snodeo", radar runs, family snowmobile games, best chili contest, and more.

Annual 100-Mile Sled Dog Race
The Wilderness Sled Dog Race starts at 9:00 am in Greenville and the teams race to Brownville and back.

Annual Moosehead Lake Chocolate Festival
A tantalizingly delicious event sponsored by
the Moosehead Chamber of Commerce. A great place to take the whole family.
Choose 12 samples from a selection of 30 delectable chocolate desserts. For
the kids there is a special Children's corner with unique food & prizes. And
as always you can place a bid on the great items in our Silent & Chinese
Auctions.
May & June
Moose Mainea
Each spring the Moosehead Lake Region host a month long
celebration honoring the regions favorite resident - THE MOOSE!. The events
take place during the time of the year when moose are most visible. This
year's events include the Moose River Canoe Race, Moosterpiece Craft Fair,
Moose Mainea Kid's Fun Day, Famous Moose Tales, a Quest Fest, and the
Chamber of Commerce's Annual Moose Photo Contest.
4th Of July
The Moosehead Lake Region comes alive celebrating Independence Day. A parade will roll along the main streets in Greenville We have a fun day planned with games, craft fair, entertainment and food. Fireworks finish off the night and enjoy the area's largest display of fireworks from our verandah!
Friday Evenings in the Summer
Greenville Gazebo Concert Series
Friday nights at the Gazebo, located in downtown Greenville. These are live musical experiences in a relaxed atmosphere.
August
Forest Heritage Days
Events are held on the 2nd weekend in August. Wood tours, educational exhibits, craft fair, food and logging games. This is incredible to watch these professional loggers compete with their saws.
September
Annual International Sea Plane Fly-In
This is the world's largest
seaplane fly-in. It is always held the weekend after Labor Day. There are
hundreds of planes, tons of food, crafts and exhibits. Fun for the whole
family! Accommodations become very scarce, so book early!

Camden National Bank "Moose on the Run" Race
Runners from near and far will line up and compete with each other and the landscape. Always a great time, with nice views of Moosehead Lake, and some good competition, along the way!
December (call for exact date)
Christmas at Moosehead, Come to our home for the Holidays. The town of Greenville lights up with a full day of events. The day starts with an Annual Inn Walk, combined with horse drawn wagon rides, craft fairs, shopping specials, tree lighting and a Christmas concert finishes off the day. This is a great way to spend a weekend away and get a jump on your Christmas shopping with unique gifts.
Summer
Our verandah is the length of the Inn and affords a spectacular view of the
mountains, lake and village below. Many guests enjoy cocktails before dinner
or dessert and coffee after their meal on our comfortable wicker chairs and
settees. Enjoy your breakfast while gazing upon a remarkable view while you
ponder what, (if any), activities you will enjoy that day.
The evenings offer spectacular sunsets over the Squaw Mountain Range with the breathtaking colors!
One of the favorite summer activities is taking a moose safari. Search for these majestic moose in Maine's northwoods and watersheds with one of our Registered Maine Guides, who can offer many different options.
The abundance of our lakes and ponds in the Moosehead area offer all types of
opportunities. Kayak and canoe rentals can be arranged as
well as expert advice on water that may appeal to your particular interests..
Our area has some of the best hiking in the northeast. A free hikers guide is
available and it details numerous trips of varied duration and difficulty level. You are sure to find something to fit your personal desires.

Fishing in the Moosehead region offers something for everyone. There are many guides available who will be able to help you achieve your goal as well as offer a wealth of information on the area. Moosehead Lake has two fly fishing only rivers that produce some fine brookies and salmon.
But there is one "catch"...you might have
to share the area with the locals! (One of whom is pictured at left.)
Moosehead Lake boasts of being the largest sea plane base east of the Mississippi. A
scenic tour in a float plane is a sure way to appreciate Moosehead Lake's
vast size and beauty.

Autumn
Canoeing and kayaking on a serene lake amid the brilliance of the fall
foliage is as "good as it gets"!
Moosehead Lake region is a "Leaf Peeping" destination. Every year we are treated to a spectacular display of brilliant colors from our expansive verandah.
Winter
Our Winter Wonderland supplies us with not just spectacular views, but with a multitude of winter activities. Enjoy snowmobiling on one of the many trails, snowshoeing, dog-sledding and skiing, just to name a few. And afterwards, how about curling up with a cup of cocoa by the crackling fire?

We have a local stable for those of you that enjoy horseback riding.
If golf is your "game", then we have area golf courses to choose from.
The Moosehead Lake area is ideal for birding. Enjoy the hard-to-find species (like
the Spruce Grouse, left) amid lakes, streams, and bogs. The Moosehead Lake
Region was the first area in the state to be researched and mapped for the Maine
Birding Trail. Check this great website:
